Our editorial policy

This is how we go about doing what we do. We’re putting it up here so that you can hold us to account – after all, if you’re on our site right now, then you are hugely important to us.

Our values and objectives

We built this site to help performers, to inform punters, and because we love the huge variety of incredible talent that is out there, slogging away in the name of entertainment.

Our core values are simple:

  • We will tell it like we see it (honesty)
  • We will always remember the effort performers put into their work (respect)
  • If we believe it is worth knowing, we will share it (openness)

Our objectives are clear:

  • To support performers at all stages of their careers
  • To help punters to find shows and performers they will enjoy
  • To bring the right audiences, performers and venues together
  • To share interesting information with people who would like to read it

Magazine articles

Our site’s editorial content is there to inform and entertain. We will always adhere to our core values of honesty, respect and openness when writing about performers.

Accuracy and decency are integral to our writing. We will not sensationalise our writing – we are not a tabloid newspaper. Where we feel criticism is necessary, we will ensure that it is constructive.

There is plenty to celebrate in the world of entertainment, and we aim to use our magazine content to do just that.

When we share information from outside sources, we will do our best to attribute it accurately and fairly.

Whether they are reviewing a gig, a web series, a play or any other medium, we ensure that our reviewers are well informed. A review is only an opinion and is never about the reviewer.

We aim to review as wide a range of work as possible within our means. This means that, unfortunately, we cannot review everything that we (or you) would like us to. We will, however, do our best to cover as much as possible.

We aim to make our listings of venues and performers as comprehensive and useful as possible.

We will draw from public sources of information as well as directly from the performers. Our listings are provided on a best-endeavour basis – they are as accurate as we can make them, but come with no cast-iron guarantee.

We recommend that you use the venue’s booking process when planning your trip to avoid disappointment.

We will do our best to correct errors in our listings promptly.

While we will provide advertising on our site, we aim to be a responsible host of advertising. We will consider the interests of our audience, and will be transparent about any advert related tracking that may take place.

We want to keep our adverts safe and appropriate.

Got something to say?

We welcome your feedback and suggestions. If you have something you would like to tell us, would like to draw our attention to an upcoming gig, or have seen something that you feel deserves our attention then don’t keep it to yourself – let us know!
